Test Spring School
The Test Spring School (TSS) is the main international event where Ph.D. and M.Sc. students can learn about the leading-edge semiconductor test technology. It is organized in conjunction with ETS, taking place during the three days prior to the kick-off of ETS. Traditionally, renowned experts from academia and industry guarantee an exciting technical program introducing into the challenges of dependability, test and diagnosis.
Format and Program
The TSS program consists of 6 half-day lectures of 4 hours each and a rich social activities program. 4 lectures will take place in the weekend before ETS from May 23th to May 25th at the TSS venue and 2 lectures will take in place in parallel on the afternoon of May 26th and are open to all ETS attendees. TSS will be a fully in-person event this year (no hybrid). As in previous years, TSS will give the students the opportunity to earn credits and a certificate by passing an online exam. To maintain the typical TSS atmosphere and support interaction during the event, the number of participants is strictly limited to 30 on a first-come first-serve basis. TSS also welcomes participation of academic and industrial professionals at a higher registration rate.
TSS will kick off on Friday at 7 PM with an introductory session, providing an overview of the program and an opportunity to get to know each other, followed by dinner. The courses will run from Saturday morning through Monday afternoon, with the final session taking place at the ETS venue. A transfer will be provided from TSS to ETS on Monday at noon.
Theme
The overall theme of TSS'25 is "Resilient and Reliable Systems" embracing Safety, Reliability and Fault Tolerance from the basics towards today's active research focus on AI/ML accelerators and/or applications. See the TSS program for details.
Location and Venue
The Test Spring School 2025 will be held at LaSpa resort in Laulasmaa, which is located on a beach 40 km west from Tallinn Airport. A shuttle bus will be provided from the airport to reach LaSpa right before the start of the program. Still, checking in at the hotel earlier is very much encouraged. Check the LaSpa resort website for public transportation options. The most economical way to come from Tallinn is by buses 127 and 128 departing from the Central train station (Balti Jaam), which can also be reached from the airport by a pulic bus no. 2. The bus ride from Balti Jaam train station will rougly take one hour and the most convenient departure times are 12:50, 14:30, 15:30 and 17:05. Check the timetable details on the respective website: for bus no. 127 and for bus no. 128. Exit the bus at "Laulasmaa" bus stop, which is located approximately 700 meters from the hotel.
Registration
The TSS registration fee includes hotel lodging with SPA access from Friday to Monday, all meals, and social activities.
